Wrap tribute, the wrapping dress revolution

In 1974 Diane Von Furstenberg created one of fashion's most globally revered and iconic dress, The Wrap Dress.

When she created the wrap dress four decades ago, she wasn't breaking any design boundaries, what she did was more revolutionary. Today, designers continue to refer back to this concept as an inspiration.

This time I did my own tribute to this amazing designer using this beautiful emerald dress.

I must confess that I had never used this kind of pieces before as I had my own impressions of it; I thought it wouldn't fit well to my body type as I have a pear type of body (note this type of dress is perfect for hourglass figure or inverse triangle giving focus on your torso and hips or creating a good balance respectively). So in my opinion it was not the best dress for me, but as I say if you never try, you never know.

I was happy with the result when I tried it on as my waist looked much smaller and for a change it gave me a much more feminine and even girly look. To make it more balanced on the top and compensate my hips I put a statement and really chunky necklace, also it needed to have my personal touch as I have my own particular style. So at the end, it seems the wrapping dress is far from being confined to fashion's archives.

We must have always a place for the wrap in our hearts, and in our closets.
